If one makes his bed. . .

From The Scotsman:

Yesterday, the row continued, as the Christian group to which Kember belongs, Christian Peacemaker Teams, insisted that other members did not wish to be rescued by soldiers if they were taken hostage in Iraq.

Most CPT activists have signed statements of commitment, making it clear they do not wish any military intervention should they be kidnapped by extremists while in the war-ravaged country.

The case has raised questions about whether the military should take action to help British citizens if they ignore safety warnings and get into trouble in Iraq.

It damn well should “raise questions” about whether the military should take action in these cases. I say that it should not. Why should a soldier risk his life to save some fool who doesn’t want to be saved in the first place?

I think the British government should round up those three ingrates and hand them back over to the terrorists in Iraq.
